Another plea for help from Apophysis users
I have been working all day on trying to learn more about this programme….and have achieved some good results…BUT…when I rendered my first image, it’s been saved with a black background. For the past 6 – 8 months I have been saving them with transparent backgrounds, enabling me to layer one on top of another when I open them in PSP X.
My problem is…I can’t remember how I managed to get the transparent backgrounds. I know it wasn’t difficult…but the tutorial I got the info from is now no longer available. If anyone out there can help me I would be absolutely delighted and indebted to you….hugs, hugs and more hugs to anyone who can help me :-)

Sorry Chris me and apophysis , I can’t even pronounce it , we just don’t go together at all. Good luck I hope you sort it out.

Thanks Irene, nice to hear from you…I have to admit to spending a lot of time on DeviantArt lately, just trying to get more info on the subject of Apo…happy with the imagery, but not the black backgrounds :-( Back soon.
Rose Moxon
save as a png?
Chris Willis replied
Hi Rose…I felt sure that I had replied to your comment…but I can’t see it anywhere…sorry about that. You are of course quite right…and I was quite wrong. I had it in my mind that I had been saving the fractals as jpg’s….NAH!!!!
Maximus
I don’t know Chris, I’ve never been able to produce the transparent B/ground… :D
Maximus
Chris Rose was spot on. on ya Rose. :)

So she was…me and my big mouth….thanks so much for your help :-)
Chris Willis
Thanks for that….but I’m pretty sure it aint right…I can remember clicking something within the program itself rather than the form of saving it….anyway I shall have a go :-) Thanks buddy…just off to look for a bigger monitor…Harvey Norman are closing down in our town..boo hoo, but everything is up to 50% off…so hopefully I can pivck one up for a song.

go into options, select options, display, png transparency, and make sure it’s enabled.
on the menu bar is a button with the checkerboard grid – that button will show the transparency.
you do have to select png when rendering the file.
Chris Willis replied
Thank you very much Gracey…all fixed…only thing that had confused me (and if you know anything about me…I get confused very easily) is that I really thought they had been saved as Jpg’s…which of course they weren’t. Wrong again, LOL

Options/options/diplay/PNG transparency enabled.

Late to the party as always it seems ! ;oD I always render as a jpg myself since I don’t layer my fractals, I’m a complete dunce with Photoshop.
Chris Willis replied
Hi Pal….I was enjoying playing around with the script you gave me…then Apophysis up and left me…I think us talking about Apo 2.06 must have jinxed it. Then I went and bought a new you beaut monitor and it didn’t like that either..so I’ve had to reinstall everything. You gotta know….I’ll be in touch, LOL

Hi Chris…you can also save as a GIF with transparent backgrounds…I do sometimes but then I don’t have Photoshop programmes…still should work from Apophysis programme under the save as in file menu.
