The Crossroads of Envy and Jealousy

The Crossroads of Envy and Jealousy by Chris Willis

The Crossroads of Envy and Jealousy

An Apophysis/Paint Shop Pro X manipulated image.

Cross-roads are appropriate way to describe envy and jealousy…most destructive emotions in human relationships. I actually like this image for a lot of reasons…but gave it this title due to the colour…glorious as emerald green is…it’s always been associated with jealousy. A shame really :-)

The Crossroads of Envy and Jealousy belongs to the following groups:

Complex Simplicity of Art, ABSTRACT DIGITAL ART AND WRITING, All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Art in Math, Vibrant and Vivid Color and WA Red Bubbles

Your Majesty, is there any doubt you are THE fractal queen. :)

Joshin aside, Max…I really do appreciate your encouragement. Mind you…without my friend Lauren’s recent help…this image, and a couple of others, wouldn’t have come about :) I find that people are so generous with sharing their knowledge..especially when you’re groping around in the dark (like I have been)
    I hope you’re enjoying your week :

Brilliant as ever, Chris !!!! A perfect interpretation of the situation, with the colour and tones, the intersecting lines and the resulting explosion of emotions that usually occur !!!

Gorgeous movement and color Chris. Hmmm, wouldn’t like to be at the crossroads….too much negative stuff there. However, you have created an image that is in complete contrast to the emotions. I see this and think of an intricate coolness and calm at the center. You are having fun and it shows.

You know, I sometimes see other things in a picture than what the title intends. To me this is the perfect picture for biotechnology. Research in the jungle, to find new medical plants, this would be a fitting background, the sqares in the middle as symbol of the jungle, the structures outside for developement of new medicine…

I love that rich emerald green coupled with the bold dramatic design Chris… as always you manage a depth & a richness to your fractals that’s uniquely your own. Outstanding hon !!!

Thanks Lauren….that’s something I try to get…and it’s not always easy with fractals…so your encouragement means a lot to me…especially since yours are so beautiful.

Hi Carolyn….thanks for leaving me your comment….I really love to read what people see in these images….that’s what I love about abstractions. In retrospect, I think I should have found a more positive title for this….envy and jealousy are so ugly. Never mind…it’s too late to change it now :-)

  • Chris Willis

Chris Willis in reply to machandel’s comment, 3 months ago

WOW!!! That’s fantastic thinking….how I wish I could come up with ideas like that….far more positive than the title I thought of, LOL. I just looked at the colour (beautiful as it is) and thought of jealousy….maybe jealousy and envy are more of a dirty slimy green….must choose more wisely from now on :-)

I agree Jean-Louis….nasty, nasty emotions for both parties. Maybe this green is the wrong kind of green for those emotions….bottle, slimey green might have been closer to them :-)
