Bleached in the heat
the relentless sun baking all around
only the hardiest of weeds defy
the blistering sun and the heartless sky
walk on if you dare insanity awaits
you will soon part from the confines of skin
and then you can be free the everlasting way
when night will no longer end each day
and what is left behind may weep

Dunes are so freakin difficult to capture, but you have done such an outstanding beautiful job!! Can I ask what time of day did you photograph this?? Congrats on your homepage feature..certainly well deserved indeed!!
chris Whitney replied
Thanks for the comments Charlotte. This shot was taken after the sun set in Death Valley. The sky still had light and the light colored dunes reflected that soft light. I enjoy this same effect at Mono Lake. Sometimes the show starts just after sunset, the beautiful colors reflecting off water or sand.
