I enjoy capturing the details that make Death Valley interesting. Here, I used a telephoto’s perspective to isolate the curves of a dune.

When I was much younger and living in Sandy Valley, Nevada US, I used to love sliding down these things! (Not too good for clothing, however!)
Out by Palm Springs California, there’s a big huge chunk dug out of a sand dune. Back in the ‘40s and before, people used to sand ski there. Same as snow skiing, but warmer.
I’ve never seen anybody use it in all my years in Palm Springs. But I’ve always wanted to try it.
