This mushroom grew in a quite unusual habitat – in the Sand dunes of Forvie sands, an impressive coastal nature reserve north of Aberdeen, Scotland.

It was growing close to a dune gras – possibly a Mycorrhiza fungus?

Possibly Tricholoma flavovirens

I can’t give an exact ID here? but an idea is a Canary Trich or Sand Trich. (Tricholoma flavovirens) Sand seems to be their favorite environment to grow. cool find!

  • Dear Carla, thank you a lot for the ID, I will update description (and file name in my collection). My greatest thanks!
