FEATURED in Australian Capital Cities 15-02-2013

Camera: Canon EOS 50D, Lens @ 17mm, ISO: 100, Aperture: f16, Shutter: 1/100

Taken from Princes Bridge in Melbourne, Australia, looking down the Yarra River. Although Melbourne is situated on the shores of one of the largest bays on the Australian coast, the city’s main water feature is the Yarra River. That’s because the city grew from the banks of the Yarra and even today the focus for the city is still very much on a one-kilometre section of the river. In this image you have Southbank on the left and Melbourne’s iconic Flinders Street station on the right. the bridge with the Arch is the Southbank Pedestrian Bridge. the spot where it crosses the river marks where a significant creek or tributary into the Yarra once flowed. Elizabeth Street now covers where the creek originally ran, and still flows underground.

Hi Christine. London huh! Well I’m sure that will not be hard to take – lucky you! I’m ducking down to Sydney soon and the Jenolan Caves – does that count! LOL! Have a great trip Christine. Cheers, Graham.
