a much more painterly work, with choppy brush strokes and bright colour. A departure from the photo-real kind of stuff

I work as an in-house artist for a large and successful art consultancy so this portfolio represents the work I love to do, not the work I do to make a living! I enjoy my work ~ everyday brings something new ~ and the income I earn frees me to create the work I love in my spare time.

Wow, this is great, Christine. Is this a painting originally or a photo?:)

  • no this is a painting (acrylic on canvas…the old fashioned way!! lol!!) I do paint from my own photos but they are not digitally done in any way – just a paint brush and some paint!! :)

Well, I’m really impressed and I envy you. I wish I had your talent. I can’t paint so I take the easy way out, with a camera and Photoshop.:)

  • lol!! Ann, you would probably be surprised by what you could achieve! I think Wayne Dyer said – ‘What the mind can conceive, the hand can achieve’…or something like that!! :):)

I would like to believe that, Christine, but not with these hands. My brain may be conceiving, but the hands ain’t receiving. (lol)

Full blaring sun all set in the coolest of colors. The contradiction intrigues. Perhaps those shadows say early morning? And perhaps the darkened windows say that the fun’s not yet open for business? And perhaps we’re waiting for the oven to come to max and the blue to turn inexorably to red? And… and…

Love to wonder Christine… art without wonder is merely craft.

  • very eloquent way of saying I’m shit with colours!!! lol!!! It really is my achilles heel!! thanks Ted:)
