2B pencil and pastel on 110gsm paper – looking up towards the sky as usual:) This was a quick sketch for an oil painting that I sold a few years ago. It is a gorgeous building (former treasury building) that has been re-cycled into a casino in Brisbane, but at least they have completely restored it to it’s former glory. It has the most amazing chandelier in the foyer!
for me it once held a fascination. I was from a small town and moved to the city to go to university, I walked past this building (when it was still a government building) everyday.

I work as an in-house artist for a large and successful art consultancy so this portfolio represents the work I love to do, not the work I do to make a living! I enjoy my work ~ everyday brings something new ~ and the income I earn frees me to create the work I love in my spare time.

Congratulations Christine on coming in the top 10 for the Brisbane Structures Challenge! This is even more exciting as I think you are the first person to have come in the top 10of any challenge run in the Brisbane group with a work that has been done by pencil!

I love the perspective :) everyone looks up at the sky but not many people think to sketch/ draw/ paint it that way :)
    Nice!

  • :) i seem obsessed with that view!! maybe it goes back to when I was a country kid who would go to the city and just love those tall buildings!!
