looking at the first version, I think it really captured an immediacy that your second one doesnt, the second one is more finished admittedly but it has lost the expressive qualities of the first. I also like the scale and dimensions of the first. The first one seems to have more light also, and the colours more intense, is that just the photo? I hope that hasnt put you off. But I also find it hard to replicate the first i have done, it a momment in time thing

wow – this is so much better (don’t want to say that previous was bad). You make really great the building and prespective. Also your colours are much warmer than prevous and much more realistic. It’s really great, well done you made it much better indeed.

Thanks so much! I still feel there are areas that could be improved but thanks for such positive comments. I really apprecaite the time you took to look at my work and comment:)

Love these odd angles of buildings – really effective works

That’s a tough one Christine – this is sharper and more constructed than the other, which makes it feel mre acrhitectural maybe – but I like them both
ChristineBetts replied
thanks for taking the time, Carole. I’m thinkng about making the pink pinker in this one. I do like it terracotta though…

Hey Christine…only just saw this…still love the first one. It has more life and colour and freshness…the second one is harder and colder. The first one definately show’s your love of Hopper’s work too. Glad that you have dont some painting though! Any more in the pipeline?

Me again, you know what else this one is missing, is the warmth of the reflected light under the eaves…yes its in shadow, but the keen eye will see also the light reflected from the surface below. You got that perfect first time!
ChristineBetts replied
CHECK THIS OUT;) I added some reflected light and charged up the colour a lot…i’m very happy with it:)
ChristineBetts
yes! you are so right!!! I am thinking of entering this one in a competition and I will be tweaking it as I feel it is a little dead in places and it is all about the colour. The other one was more immediate. thanks so much:)
Lara Cooper
:) Hope it was helpful!
ChristineBetts replied
absolutely. I’ll upload the new shot tonight:)
Lara Cooper
Definately looks warmer and brighter…and reflected light adds life …good job! All the best with the competition…what kind of competition is it? Hope you get noticed!
ChristineBetts replied

Awesome! Love the coral pink of the building.
ChristineBetts replied
thanks Don. It really isn’t quite that pink in truth, but artistic licence and all that;)
