This HDR shows how important it is what you leave in and out of a photo. It looks like this hotel is situated somewhere on a lake in the countryside. In fact its situated right along a busy intersection… :)

How do you leave an intersection out???
hehe :) Take two steps to the right… No, seriously, the intersection is just to the left of me, and there is a busy street behind me also…
ahhh….I thought you must have had to insert the water. You’ve done an excellent job of framing it without the intersection!
Yes, the lake is in fact just a pond, and it ends just to the left and right of the photo. Framing can create illusions sometimes that greatly increase the beauty of a photo.
You have a lot of nice work Christiaan.
I do like this shit a lot. Great colour and framing. Well shot.
It is amazing what one can do with a framed image to give it more appeal than actually being there.
Thanks Adrian! :) Yep, its all about composition and framing sometimes…
Love your work mate, and one of my mates can’t stop looking at it, he’s obsessed with HDR. I plan to try one with my D70 and Photomatix, got any hot tips? Can it be done with only bracketing?
He can buy the print to hang on the wall if he cant stop looking at it! :) hehe
D70 & photomatix sounds good, hot tip: keep it real, and keep trying!! It took me a while to figure out the program, the settings, how to tonemap, and what kind of source photos give interesting results.
Depending on your taste, of course you can make photos look more artsy than real, but I have always had the most positive feedback on the more realistic ones. For good information and lots of examples, check out www.flickr.com, the HDR craze swept all over flickr, and quite a lot of people have HDR photos, some are very good. Just search for HDR in the tags.
Cool thanks mate, great advice. I’ll let ya know how i go…
Like the strength of the colours and the clean lines. Speaking of clean. Not a cigarette-butt or anything anywhere! Prachtig.
