I like the sense of elegant decay (decaying elegance?) in this. The bright blue paint slowly disappearing under moss, and nature’s greenery almost overwhelming the old stone building and cobblestones.

What a magnificent sight! Wonderful detail, and excellent HDR processing. Very very impressive!

Awesome image, so much texture and colour.

Thanks Matt, I like your wordplay :) Yes, this whole place (house, street, car, etc) was all seeming to be years behind the surrounding houses… As if the owner purposely let it stay this way.
Thanks Mel! HDR made this photo a lot more interesting than the original, also one of my personal favourites.
Thanks David!

Hi Christiaan, I love this image. I agree with Matt, it feels like it is an abandoned ruin from a lost civilization and nature has just started to reclaim it.
Christiaan
Thanks for the comments!
Me too Infinityrain!
Rick, youre welcome :)
Damian, maybe the owner of the car and house comes from a lost civilization? ;)

I wrote about my friends, the Steinfurths, celebrating their 50 years in Australia, last December, in my journal. This is the first time that I’ve seen it as a name of a town. Didn’t take a look because of the name ,though. But the great picture! So lucky that the truck has such character!

Some magic HDR images in your portfolio Christiaan. This one combines both of my own interests at the moment – old rusty things and HDR
Beautiful work
Cheers :)
Christiaan
Thanks for the kind comments!
Ozcloggie, yeah, its funny how cities are named after family names sometimes, or also sometimes the other way around. Until the simpsons movie was in the papers the last few days, I didnt know there were 35 actual cities called Springfield (like the town in the simpsons), in the USA alone…
Smylie, I dont have many other rusty things I believe, but I do have lots or only HDR actually :)

I really like this Christiaan, it looks almost like the car has a face and a soul and is sitting waiting to be reawakened by a bit of spit and polish.
Christiaan
Yeah it looks like its staring a bit sleepily huh? Like its fantasizing about the days when it was still shiny, or the days when it will be shiny once again.
