Slender Sun Orchid
Widespread and common, what is not common is finding them open, they only do so on hot humid sunny days, otherwise they self pollinate. The flowers here are only about 12mm across.

G’day Chris,
These are a beautiful yet elusive orchid indeed! In all my wildflower hunts throughout the great Port Macquaire district over the past three years I have only found two specimens of the Spotted Sun Orchid. The first was closing up as I tried to photograph it and the second attempt turned out to be just a very poor photograph. So good for you!
This pair are fully opened to show their delicate inner beauty, the image is well composed with the subject slightly off centre, the lighting and exposure are very good, the depth of field has created a lovely bokeh, the focus is spot on, the contrast is pleasing and the colours so beautifully natural.
Very good work!

...and you take terrific orchid photos! Great pair – nice creamy background. I’ll have to find a couple I took at Anglesea.
Cheers. Chris
