We took a day trip from Christchurch and encountered some really heavy rain (even by New Zealand standards). We had given up hope of a good day when suddenly the clouds cleared and the sun came out. The mist cleared progressively revealing snow covered peaks that we hadn’t realised were there. There is no magic in the shooting of the photo and no alterations have been made. This is just the moment!
