Autumn's Delight - Beechworth VIC by

Location : Black Springs Bakery, Beechworth, Victoria

Limited Edition Size : 300 prints only
Available for Purchase : www.chrismunngallery.com

Built in the days when bushrangers and gold miners roamed the surrounding countryside, Black Springs Bakery provides a tangible link to the once thriving community of Black Springs. The original bakery was built from timber in 1875, and had, by 1877 been replaced by the granite building which stands today. With its facade adorned by Virginia Creeper, the bakery is a spectacular sight in mid autumn, as the green of summer gives way to the vibrant reds of cool autumn days.

I believe photography is a form of visual poetry, with the power to transport us through time, opening windows to special fleeting moments, which have long since passed. As you browse my portfolio, I hope that my photographs allow you to escape through these windows, and enjoy the special places and moments that I had been privileged to experience

LOVE this one Chris, I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with you at the Alfred Nicholas Gardens, remember? I visited your website when I got home that day.. BRILLIANT work mate!

  • Hi Nick: Thank you :-) It is great to hear from you. Alfred Nicholas Gardens were particularly beautiful during autumn this year. We both picked an excellent day to visit. Have you been out and about with your camera recently? If you like the high country, it should be a good winter, with plenty of snow for photography.

Gorgeous capture!! Stunning color, format, love the subject!

  • Thanks Angie :-) This lovely old building is only a short drive from my home. I had driven past it many times over the years and not even noticed it change colour. It is amazing what we can miss, when we things for granted :-)

Just gorgeous Chris! That Virginian Creeper just looks stunning. Mine never seems to get any colour as it’s in the shade! Maybe I need to put it on a building! This looks beautiful, thank you for sharing! Drool, Drool! LOL!

    Gabe :)

  • Hi Gabrielle. Thank you :-) I wonder, could the colour be related to the age of the Virginia Creeper?

    Hi Chris,

The colour gets better with a colder chill factor! Mine is protected from the frosts, we don’t get many frosts here but down your way it’s gets rather chilly! I did get a little colour this year but as it’s growing up the trunk of an evergreen, it just doesn’t get the chill factor it needs to look like this gorgeous one.

    Gabe :)
