We are enveloped by ice and snow here in Western North Carolina. Certainly the snowiest winter since I have lived here. This shot is from last years big snow in March. We already have two that beat that one. Here Happy is making the illegal pass on Bailey as Freckles looks on. Saki who was our foster is a bit behind. My parents adopted Saki so we still get to see him quite a bit. He was rescued from a no-kill shelter that the State shut down due to abuse. He was almost 20 lbs overweight and heartworm positive. Now, he travels between two mountain houses. One here in NC and one in Breckenridge. He is healthy and fit. Bailey was a stray that was scheduled to be eutanized. Freckles was a seen wandering the road near our house. When I tried to approach she wouldn’t have anything to do with me. But, when my wife Colleen opened the door…she jumped right in. We did all we could to find her owners but nothing. Probably a dropped off dog. Happy was from the Montgomery, Alabama Humane Society.

Hi, my name is Chris Snyder and I reside in beautiful Western North Carolina, USA. I have been a swim coach since 1990 and have been selling my photography since 2006. My wife and I are avid mountain bikers and also are very involved in animal rescue. We always have a menagerie of some size and makeup. Most of my images are of nature whether wildlife or landscapes. I hope you enjoy.

Beautiful action shot of these happy frolickers…Glad that it all ended well for Saki…(a no-kill shelter shut down due to abuse??!!..now I’ve heard it all…!!)

  • The intentions were good…but. I don’t know the whole story, just that hidden cameras were used….Almost all the dogs were adopted. Thanks Meg.
