Perhaps the most famous of all Spitfires still flying today, MH434 was built in 1943 at the Vickers factory at Castle Bromwich. This Spitfire is almost completely original, and has never been fully rebuilt. 104 views on 11/19/2012

Photography has been an obsession since I was 13 years old and went off to Italy clutching my mother’s 1940s roll film camera. I’ve been fooling with computers since I bought an Amiga 1000 back in 1985. My first chunky pixelized images were digitized into that machine using a black and white CCTV camera. My fav too Chris, If i remember correctly it was the first one produced at castle Bromwich and the first to fly from there. R J M used to chuck me under the chin when I was in my pram, when out with my Mum and Grandad, my grandfather was very friendly with him, they used to drink together

  • Great comment for a great plane, thank you Barry, that’s so very much appreciated, cheers.

This is superb work !! – Colin

  • Hi Colin, thanks very much. I am back online at last! During the blackout I got bored and decided to rearrange my digs! I thought it would all be done by the time the lights went back on! Fat chance! Once you start moving things you end up moving everything and Oh lord, what a lot of work! But it is starting to come together at last. My network is running again but I’ve only got the laptop connected for now! Cheers.
