Photography has been an obsession since I was 13 years old and went off to Italy clutching my mother’s 1940s roll film camera. I’ve been fooling with computers since I bought an Amiga 1000 back in 1985. My first chunky pixelized images were digitized into that machine using a black and white CCTV camera. At last, with today’s software and hardware I feel that I can create the images I see in my mind’s eye. Visit my website at www.PixielatedPixels.com

The lights at night are the most intriguing sight in cities. NYC especially!!

  • Been out a couple of times lately with a local meetup group doing night shooting in NY. It’s been a lot of fun and something that I don’t usually do. Had to use a tripod and actually think about what I was doing instead of my usual shoot from the hip sort of thing! Capturing the twilight hour when the light is magical is always great. Unfortunately a good sunset is infrequent as the sun just usually fades out as it drops into the pollution over New Jersey as it did on this occasion. I guess that’s what Photoshop is for right? Cheers.

Magnificent!!! I visited NYC for the first time in May, and was captivated (isn’t everyone???)
I really like the processing on this, it ‘disappears’ the rather crass red, white and blue lighting, but still leaves it unmistakeably the icon that it is:)

  • They only use the red, white and blue on certain holidays so it was a nasty green color on this occasion! It changes all the time. :-) This city captivated me 40 years ago and i don’t know if I will ever leave. Glad you like my rendition of this great building, thanks for the encouraging comment. Cheers.

  • It’s the weekend and slow here today and I’ve found that the wifi works in this building (sometimes) so I’m slacking off a bit and look what I found! Thanks very much, you’ve brightened up my day again Kira.
