Photography has been an obsession since I was 13 years old and went off to Italy clutching my mother’s 1940s roll film camera. I’ve been fooling with computers since I bought an Amiga 1000 back in 1985. My first chunky pixelized images were digitized into that machine using a black and white CCTV camera. At last, with today’s software and hardware I feel that I can create the images I see in my mind’s eye. Visit my website at www.PixielatedPixels.com

I know many people from Brooklyn. Sometimes I think half of New York is from Brooklyn. LOL Awesome capture!!

  • Actually I guess it’s a fifth. There are five boroughs after all. But Brooklyn IS a big one! Glad you enjoyed my venture into black & white, thanks very much John, Cheers.

LOL I was speaking of ALL of New York, not just the city. LOL Half of the people I know from New York are from Brooklyn, a few from the Bronx, a few from Manhatten and the rest from upstate. LOL

So many people told me about this site and I even joined at one point and was a member of a few photography groups but every time they announced a meetup there were 100 responses… 1. I hate crowds. 2. 90% of people are very amateur. 3. I feel weird to shoot among so many strangers and keep up with everyone. 4. I prefer shooting with people I meet on RB, seen their work and know they will stay in 1 spot and take a bunch of shots like me without a pressure of keeping up with the group. 5. I like groups of 6 or less where it can be a little more personal.
Having said that I wouldn’t mind doing a shoot with you Sir :) Let me know if you’re interested!
This Saturday won’t work for me in either case as I’m going to Philly… Back to prison!! Haha Eastern State that is…

  • Hi again, thanks for this response. This group only manages to get about a dozen to 16 people so it’s not a huge crowd about half are newish amateurs so it’s a good mix. I find I can never think of a new location to go go shoot and have used up all the standard ones over the many years in New York. These groups get me to go to places that I normally wouldn’t and also push me to be social and meet people. I tend to be a loner so that’s good for me! I think it would be fun to go off shooting with you at some point, I have enjoyed your work for some time. The next two weeks I will be away in California but once I get back my time is my own so we can keep it in mind as long as you don’t call me “Sir”:-) That prison looks like a great place to shoot, I’ll have to visit it one day. You always find such great locations.
