The Bridges and The East River, New York, USA by

Another 35mm Oldie but Goody. The Manhattan & Brooklyn Bridges shot from the observation deck on the roof of the World Trade Center in the early eighties. Note the lack of a park around the foot of the bridges in Brooklyn. The River Cafe is also non-existent.

Photography has been an obsession since I was 13 years old and went off to Italy clutching my mother’s 1940s roll film camera. I’ve been fooling with computers since I bought an Amiga 1000 back in 1985. My first chunky pixelized images were digitized into that machine using a black and white CCTV camera. At last, with today’s software and hardware I feel that I can create the images I see in my mind’s eye. Visit my website at www.PixielatedPixels.com

So much history here. Awesome shot!!

  • I used to love to go up there and just hang. It was so peaceful and quiet far above the noise of the city. I still almost can’t believe I can’t do that anymore. It was for sure the best city view in the world. Nice of you to stop by John, Thanks very much.

Fabulous shot Chris, love the colours. Looks as though it scanned well from the film/negative.

  • The scan was pretty good but it needed some help and cleaning up in Photoshop of course. Thanks for viewing and leaving this comment, much appreciated, cheers.
