A 400mm telephoto front view of Arundel Castle over the trees Views on 02/19/2012 = 1202

Arundel Castle in Arundel, West Sussex, England is a restored medieval castle. It was founded by Roger de Montgomery on Christmas Day 1067. Roger became the first to hold the earldom of Arundel by the graces of William the Conqueror. The castle was damaged in the English Civil War and then restored in the 18th and 19th centuries. From the 11th century onward, the castle has served as a hereditary stately home and has been in the family of the Duke of Norfolk for over 400 years. It is still the principal seat of the Norfolk family

Photography has been an obsession since I was 13 years old and went off to Italy clutching my mother’s 1940s roll film camera. I’ve been fooling with computers since I bought an Amiga 1000 back in 1985. My first chunky pixelized images were digitized into that machine using a black and white CCTV camera. At last, with today’s software and hardware I feel that I can create the images I see in my mind’s eye. Visit my website at www.PixielatedPixels.com

Great composition and wonderful light, excellent processing too! Nice shot with your 400mm landscape lense! ;-)

  • For many years, going past here on buses, coaches, trains and in cars with drivers who wouldn’t want to stop for the crazy photographer, I eyed a side road that I just knew would provide a great view. Finally a couple of years ago I talked my sister into driving to Arundel for the single purpose of getting this shot. Mission accomplished! very happy you like the result. Thanks for visiting. Cheers.

sometimes it just takes going by a “picture” a hundred times before you actually get your “one best shot”! this is truly beauty at it’s best! I love this castle the best, I think! Now one day I’d like to see it in person!

  • I sure hope you get to visit it, it will so be worth the trip. It’s one huge castle, almost the size of Windsor or Warwick. So many photo ops here you would love it. Thanks so much for a great comment and the favorites on my pictures, it ’s truly greatly appreciated. Cheers.
