Photography has been an obsession since I was 13 years old and went off to Italy clutching my mother’s 1940s roll film camera. I’ve been fooling with computers since I bought an Amiga 1000 back in 1985. My first chunky pixelized images were digitized into that machine using a black and white CCTV camera. At last, with today’s software and hardware I feel that I can create the images I see in my mind’s eye. Visit my website at

This is an amazing image. There is such a mixture of architecture, the bridge looks as though it belongs over a river in an English village somewhere, contrasting with the colourful skyscrapers in the background. The people ice skating add a nice touch of colour and focus to the scene.

  • They built a lot of bridges into the Central Park landscape but this one, the Gapstow Bridge, is the most famous. I can’t believe that in the huge number of years I have been visiting the park I never climbed this little rocky hill and enjoyed this view before. Very pleased that you enjoyed the view too, thanks very much Nigel, cheers
