This original watercolor was inspired by a photo I took in Venice last year. Two individuals, one in a heavy hooded raincoat, are chatting, out of the rain, under a dark passageway. This is a view of the real Venice quite different from the tourist postcards.
i really love the simplicity of this watercolour. Your series of watercolours works to me all reflect the real Venice i know and love. ‘She’ is so beautiful.. it is in the simplicty that we see this true beauty.. ‘la vera bellezza’ same goes for life. (((hugs)))
Thank you so much, Perugina! It’s so nice to hear from you. This little painting was mostly an experiment on using a 300lb watercolor paper – it handles quite differently from the 140lb that I am used to. I did try to capture a little, real moment in Venice, including the overflowing garbage bin :-)
