This painting is part of my series “Memories of Venice” that shows my fascination with the incredible beauty of this city full of mystery. I used as reference one of the many photographs I took during my last trip to Venice a few months ago. Only in Venice could one find at the turn of a canal an old doorway with such elegant lines and intricate metalwork. Imagine all the history that has gone by this door during the last five centuries….
