Taken in October 2008 at Elgol on Skye in between blustery showers. I spent more time clearing the rain off my filters than taking images.

The temperature was somewhere around freezing and the wind was bitterly cold. Worth the effort though.

Shot using Canon EOS 400D with Tamron SP 17-50mm Dii lens.

Ah yes, the famous “sold for £500 at charity auction” print :) Don’t imagine it would sell for quite as much here but certainly worthy of a few sales, a great moody shot.

A thankyou to Donald for directing my attention to your work. Love them all, and difficult to choose my favourite but this one with the rope has an air of mystery to it. Look forward to seeing more of your work and welcome to RB.

  • Hi Cosimopiro. Thank you for your comments. This image is a personal favourite of mine from last year. The location is probably one of the most photographed spots on Skye, when you are standing there you can see why. That bit of rope believe it or not was a huge bit of seaweed.

Great shot, and looks as though it was worth putting up with the wind and rain
