Open your clam
And I will open mine
Throw off your shell
And mine too I will dispel
And within ourselves
We will find the pearl
And penetrate in
Towards its shine
And then we will find
The diamond of time
And we will always be in the light
While in each other’s sight
And life will continue
Along its flight
For so many things
Will be so right
We will work together
And hold our stand
Hum to the music
And dance on the sand
And we will walk
Side by side
Together in hand
We will listen to the birds
And hear their every words
Of: “Hello, good morning
‘Tis heaven this earth”
Just open your shell
And mine too I will dispel
Now take my hand
And we’ll go hum
And dance on the sand.

Let’s go…I am ready to cast off this shell…the inner jewel is so longing for such wonderful freedom. Beautiful poetry Chris!!!

  • C J Lewis replied

Hi Ann…ok…come on…let’s go…if only most people would cast off their shells and allow their freedom to shine for them…too many in this world brainwashed by old traditions that have kept the people down for too long…about time truths shone, I believe. Thanks for your lovely comment :)

Sometimes the knowing links, builds bridges, it’s all so easy, so simple, so true. Some carry their luggage outside their shell, strapped together with ropes and strings, all sorts of things, no ray of light has hope to get in.

Watched the last of 8 goslings still stuck in its shell,
neck twisted backwards, beak beeping real well
eyes were under the hard bits, still shut tight
all things folded to fit in, except for some light
tight place to be stuck, each moment one grows
will get tighter tomorrow, little gosling knows
Helped to break off some chips, freed the head to come out,
placed it into the nest, mother goose heard its shouts
called all seven around, spread its wings for to hide
number 8 will see all when it opens its eyes
Meanwhile, all grown and all can fly
to see the world from way up high
and all can swim and splash and dive
stuck in a shell, none would be alive

Very true what you have said above Heinz..some do carry their luggage outside their shell…but true light does not come from without…comes from within…heart centered. I wrote this poem when 18 between myself and spirit that was leading me out of a depressed stage…so yes, a definite bridge which does make it all so easy, simple and true…and…suppose in a way…could be viewed as a love poem :)

Love your prose above on the 8th gosling, thanks. stuck in a shell, none would be alive how very true that is :)

Thank you also for your comment…appreciated :)
