ACADEMIC SCHOLARS

Some of my friends are educated
More than I will ever be
Academic scholars…
God…that’s a worry to me

Teachers teaching what they’ve learnt from books
Based on history’s past….or….
Another’s thoughts
Another’s ways
Where’s the meanings of these days

History carves a path of learning
How not to do it wrong
But in this day of commercial ways
It’s just leading people on

Frustrations building
People yearning
Destruction growing strong
It’s time we took stock of we’re we are at
And break this chain of wrong

To stop, look around at the world
As it is today
Before we venture on
To think is what we need to do….
Put on that cap anew
And teach the children of the now….
This day….
This place….
This time….

So stash away yesterday’s rubble
Before it gets this world
Into even more trouble.
