PLAY ME, I’M YOURS

© C J Lewis. T-shirt design of piano with words: Play Me, I’m Yours.

JULY 2009 FEATURED IN The Patchwork group

British artist Luke Jerram was inspired by the idea to place pianos in 30 areas of Sydney during the 2009 Sydney Festival … to get people who live in the areas to communicate through music … this is one of those pianos with a neighbour’s daughter playing it. Luke also wears my t-shirt design shown here.

The pianos were also installed on the streets of London during festival time June/July 2009 and in Bristol, UK in September 2009. Check out other amazing art installations Luke has done on his website and while there have a look at the gifts he has made for family & friends especially the amazing ring he made to propose to his wife that has the proposal inscribed on the ring itself and which by using a tiny player somewhat like a phonogram asks the question of marriage – very unique.

Wow that as Blamo says hits it!! tee hee.. and BB is getting to know your secrets!

  • C J Lewis replied

lol…BB probably knows them already. This was fun to do but the funniest part is this piano is sitting in my local park secured to a tree with a chain going from inside it around the tree and back inside it…as with the stool too…chained…and the sign on its side saying Play Me, I’m Yours…couldn’t resist going back with my camera to take some shots of it…the girl playing it is a neighbour’s daughter…a fun place to live around here…all artists/musos…but wouldn’t want to live too close to that park when at midnight some partying people decide to bash on the keyboard…lol Love you sister..have a great day :)) xoxoxo

  • C J Lewis replied

It’s got a raincoat too…plastic sheet secured to it that can be pulled over it when rains…lol…just hope those around the park remember to cover it otherwise will be a mighty tinny tone coming out…lol
