Artist Selby Warren & Wife in his gallery, Abercrombie Caves, NSW.
© C J Lewis Taken using a Nikon SLR 35mm film camera. Shot taken in 1977 during an outback trip when we dropped in on Selby & his wife.
This sweet artist was 85 years young when I photographed him and his lovely wife…she just doted over him…a very loving couple. Selby’s work was vibrantly alive with brilliant colours and at that age…he was still painting :)

ha….so much easier now with digital ,,,,,,,,,,,,,no film to develop…........
C J Lewis replied
You’re right about that KJ…no more messy developers and print baths to worry about…but you know…with film could do some amazing effects in both developing & printing stages too…but yes, much easier now with digital :)

This ia a wonderful picture of my great – grandfather Selby Warren. I have been trying to research him for a while now. Thankyou for helping me see what a talented artist he really was.

Hi there … lucky you having one of Selby’s paintings … wish I had bought one when there … wonderful work and he was a lovely chap … very quiet type. You could contact Alexandra Hill [admin@gantfineart.com] who might be able to assist you in selling the paintings. I think their gallery is in Melbourne. Also Roger Shelley [mailto:roger@liviniere.com] may be able to help – Roger is compiling a biography on Selby. Hope this helps … all the best :)
