Pembroke Welsh Corgi - substance, stamina and fun in a small space by

We don’t know much about the origin of the two Welsh Corgis, the Cardigan and the Pembroke. However, there’s a lovely legend that the Corgi dog was a gift from the woodland fairies, and that the breed still carries the marks of fairy harnesses on its coat.

Whatever its origins are, there’s no question as to the suitability of either breed as a valued pet. They are loyal, alert, even-tempered, fun-loving, and confident, all good qualities for a family dog.

Especially the Pembroke Welsh Corgi has captured the hearts of families throughout the nation. Watching him play is better than TV!

Early in the last century sweet eighteenth years old Princess named Elizabeth became enamored by a short legged, large eared, fox faced dog called a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Corgi for short. Over sixty years and many dogs later, the Queen of England has become the world’s most famous Corgi owner.
