Make a Wish
Dandelion – its Beauty lies in its Innocence
Though there are certainly prettier flowers, the simple Dandelion is one of my favorites. Perhaps because the flower constantly reminds me of happy childhood times. A wonderful sight that has stayed in my mind is a big roundabout completely covered by yellow dandelions. The sun come to earth!
Why do millions of people, instead of enjoying the dandelions show, use 2,4-D to kill them, which, of course, effects much more than just dandelions. They make not just healthy, yummy salads but are also a major spring plant for bees and other pollinators, a plentiful source of pollen and nectar which can mean the difference between life and death for e.g. bee hives coming out of winter. Folks still don’t realize these interconnections.
Let us not forget that dandelions make wishes come true. You just have to put your lips together and blow.
