A Schnauzer is a German dog type which originated in Germany in the 1400s and 1500s. The term comes from the German word for snout “Schnauze” (furry muzzle).
Don’t be fooled by the Miniature Schnauzer’s size. He is a tough dog who loves it to put on a show of superiority, challenging even large dogs, without necessarily intending to fight. Mini Schnauzers make great family dogs as they are loyal, very playful, inquisitive, spunky, and loveable companions for children – and small but excellent watchdogs.
