Lucky me because usually hawks soar in wide circles at a great height, crying a raspy cry, too far away to get a decent shot …

We also have one that sits on a utility pole outside our house. I am always afraid he is gonig to swoop down and get my gray kitty. There cry is not a friendly sound. This is a great shot. I like the detail in his breast feathers.
