Lake Eyre is Australia’s largest salt lake at Lake Eyre National Park. Covering an area 144km long and 77km wide, Lake Eyre is an extensive salt sink. The lake has only filled to capacity three times in the last 150 years and is often empty.

The best way to see Lake Eyre and take in its vastness is from the air which is what I did. This photo is taken from above and what you see is the cloud reflections on the lake.

Beautiful reflections in the water Christina and the shape of the water is just wonderful

  • Thanks Stuart. I was told that a couple of months earlier there had been no water there, so it was nice to see water in the lake. It does have a nice flow to it.

Beautiful piece of photography Christina. Wonderful composition with great colours, reflections and perspective.

  • Thanks Hany for your wonderful comment. It was wonderful flying over the lake and seeing the clouds below …. And yet above as well … A bit of a strange feeling.
