Corella, photograph taken on a clear sunny Spring day in Hepburn Springs, Australia with my old Panasonic FZ. In the original photograph the sky was deep blue. I altered the background with texture layers and various manipulations in Photoshop CS3. This work is a reminder that it’s not just humans who suffer from carelessly lit fires. Here in Australia, hundreds of animals and birds are destroyed every summer by bush fires, most of them accidentally lit. A stray spark from a lawnmower or cigarette can result in yet another extinct native species. Please watch out this Summer, and save our native wildlive.

I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t create, it’s as natural to me as breathing, especially now that we have the means to achieve great art with digital photography. It’s so exciting and I feel that my creativity has finally come to fruition with these fantastic digital tools.

Absolutely heavenly Chris , delicate & exquisite with the fragility of this work ,Bless the little creatures

  • Dearest Lynne, how lovely! Thanks so much! A flock of these beautiful birds nest in the old growth gums opposite our house, they are such a delight. I’m on the run tonight, been playing with our darling Robbie and lost track of time. Hope you’re taking it easy and not too stressed out by the silly season … hugs xx

This is so beautifully done Chris. How sad is is that so many of these wonderful creatures are put at risk by mans carelessness.
