*I been a long time leaving but I’m going to be a long time gone.

- Willie Nelson*

Old Settlers’ cottage on the road to Franklin Ford, Central Victoria.

I used 2 photographs for this image, both taken with a Canon EOS 450D, 25-80mm lens. I layered two images of the cottage, and the texture layer is moss and stones from the old original fireplace chimney on the outside end of the cottage. Edited and layered in Photoshop CS3.

I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t create, it’s as natural to me as breathing, especially now that we have the means to achieve great art with digital photography. It’s so exciting and I feel that my creativity has finally come to fruition with these fantastic digital tools.

It does add that extra feeling with the layers. The dear old building, so close to falling, captured well.

  • Thanks so much LL … I was actually heading up your way when I found this cottage on a road that I’d never travelled before. I usually use the Calder but felt like a change – so glad I did now :))

I really like what you have done here Chris! The storries this cottage must hold? The layers you have used are totally perfect, they looks as if they are peeling away and the cottage slowly falls to the ground. They also add to the detail. This is a great find and a wonderful end result! :-)

  • Thank you so very much for your encouragement Tania, I so appreciate it :))
