The numbing silence

Our freedom has with blood been bought
Remember Satan hides where he’s not sought
As fashions rise & empires fall
To be free, we must challenge all

To assume that we are right & others wrong
Is to take protection from the strong
To cry “heresy against God, forsooth”
Is to deny the acid bath of truth

For whether barefoot, rough or fully shod
All who walk the path to truth find God
Assumptions must be tested too
It is the honest thing to do

Throw off the shackles & the rust
Clean out the cobwebs, shift the dust
Fair questions are no offence to He
Who made all there is to be.

The numbing silence by

I really worry about the current obsession with being PC politically correct. It is used by many to enforce the status quo & stifle indepedant thought & creativity.
We think because we rage against the past & injustices that we are being fair & civilised. We forget that we then shout down people who criticise us.

We forget that there are many in our world- both philosophers & modern day prophets- who honestly seek to challenge us to seek the truth in a relevant way.
If an idea is a truth it will withstand scrutiny.
