Camden Saturday

To Camden
To market
To the tumble of cheap fabric
To food filling the sky
with such smells and hunger.
To tiny trinkets dazzling
like riches in transient fingers
To passing people purchasing
holding the yellow metal to the ear
and guessing harem nights
in Arabian palaces.
To, all the fun and fiesta
of north London’s
crush of cultures
confounding each other
in scents and fascinations
To the bunch of blue ribbons
frivolous in the haze
of hot dog stands

Wonderful imagery here, C. Sounds like a fabulous frenzy of sounds, colours, flavors and frivolous fun…can’t wait to visit London to see it all for myself! :-)

  • Its not so much the place as the people. You would certainly be an added attraction, Oh most certainly

  • I used to work in that area and I found the crowds a little awkward… until I found a job elsewhere and missed it like crazy

This has that “Fish Market Finds” flavour. I like going along with you on these magical market adventures. It reminds me of my travels: ones I hope to be able to pick back up again soon. :)

  • It is a market more of fleas than fish but all the babble and hullabaloo are still there, I wait with bated breath for and journal of your journeys they may come to pass
