The War of Box and Man

This war has lasted for years and it was a stupid war. Even more stupid than the ones before had been. As usual the actual reason why the war had been started in the first place had been lost in explosions and fire. The more they burned, the more the reason slipped further away. Crisping around the edges until it couldn’t be deciphered any more. The reason became ash. The reason was empty. Man and Box both could no longer remember and as the blackened years rolled on the rememberance of the start of hostilities was also forgotten. Man killed Box. Box killed Man. It seemed so normal now.

The actual reason was change, without which we do not grow. Growth into butchers of species, precipitated by ignorance of a long forgotten reason. Man had carried them for countless generations. From their births to their deaths. Man without box was unthinkable but attitudes began to change and one day one Man dared to open his Box. The secret of so many eons was laid bare. The lie revealed. The War began.
