Being warned of a possible civilian war on the blisteringly hot home planet of the Warrior Cacti, it is up to Starfleet to save the day. The Away Team is sent in, in an attempt to prevent the escalation of anger between the Cacti Overlord and the Echino Rebels.*
Starfleet Redshirts, Chiaki and Ona, are given the duty of liaising with the Echino Rebels.
As communication breaks down, it is up to Starfleet to decide which side is twisting the facts and just who has drained the Cacti Planet Mt’Coot-tha of it’s valuable liquid minerals!
