Life in Armour

We fought in our Armour,
We loved in our Armour,
We lived in our Armour – together,

We talked in our Armour
We made love – still in our Armour, together,

We broke our own hearts,
Because we could no longer ‘connect’,
Through our Armour.
We cried – inside our Armour, together,

It is how we live today, after all.
It is how we love.

Is it any wonder then,
that we smash the world to bits?
beating at it with our fists?

Is it any wonder then,
that we feel the need to Explode in Violence?
So that we can break through our Armour:
– Just to be Seen?
– Just to be Heard?

Is it any wonder then,
that we feel the need to Explode in Violence?
– just so that we may,
without our Armour,
(no longer apart.)

Another reflection on the conenction between the need for love at a basic human level and how it shapes us as a society…

I am wondering after reading this for the second time if the layers that we add ( some of them unwillingly…they evolve of their own accord) are the protection we think we need from the ‘wolves’ we know are never to far.
Greed is in all forms in this world and it sure does keep us all apart… I am going to ponder your words here more.
I do so agree that it sure does fuel this feeling of wanting to explode and break free… but I guess we need to figure out what kind of freedom we really want.
Good to see your thoughts back on the bubble again..xx

  • hey KS – thanks – some of that ‘armour’ sorta builds up unknowingly, doesn’t it?…adn then it gets harder adn harder to get out of our own shells!!..and that’s what i mean is that sometimes, it takes more and more effort to break out of our own shells and then to break-thru someone else’s shell just to connect: a sort of ‘violence’/‘force’ that’s requried – and sometimes that ‘force’ gets mis-understood or mis-directed or mis-used by those who don’t understand that this ‘force’ is really not required to be aimed at others at all…(dunno if i’m making sense..but anyways..)..and yes, it comes down to defining for ourselves what sorta ‘breaking out’ and freedom we’re really after…good to hear from you, as always…love our ‘chats’…:)..xx chitrali
