I finally redid the HDR on this one. Hope everyone likes it. I totally dig it although the I kept the original darker one as my desktop picture (cause it looks great on my mac but apparently is too dark on a PC). Rock on all and let me know what you think.

Seriously please critique this one for me. This photo has been driving me nuts since the original HDR was too dark.

very nice. great work. the depth, color and contrasting variety of reds and greens give this capture feeling

Nice composition. I would like to know what is your objective when using HDR. Is it more to do with trying to make an art out of an image or to compensate for the high contrast because I would have taken the photo without using HDR. All of my creek photos are without HDR and the shadows are correct. But If you are doing it for the art then you did a great job. I sometimes use HDR but only when the contrast is very high and I try not to over process the image but make it look natural as I saw it. Hope you don’t mind the critique :)

  • Here is the original

I though that i had posted it on this site but I guess i havent yet.
When I go with the hdr i am trying to coax something extra out of the image. Usually I do not know what that extra is until I play around with the results. If it doesn’t seem to work for the image I generally abandon the effort. In this case I felt that it made a different in a good way so I gave it a post.
I really appreciate you taking the time to critique my image. I am glad that you feel the hdr works in this case. I agree that I try to keep my hdr’s as true to nature as i can.

Being that I like the ‘natural’ look, I really like the original image although it’s amazing what one can do with HDR. By the way….very nice images at your deviantArt site :))

  • Thanks. I usually try to post them both but it is hard to keep track of how many sited you posted too and what. Thanks for checking my other stuff out.
