Cheryl Teoh is a self-taught artist whom despite not having much support from her family, continues to push forward to make her mark in the art world. Though originally from Malaysia, Cheryl’s father works for the UN and has been fortunate enough to travel and experience a wealth of cultures as diverse as Switzerland, Kenya and most recently Pakistan, all of which have broadened her perspective. Growing up in a strict Chinese family dynamic whilst also being socialized in the various and sometimes contrasting cultures, has inspired a lot of the ideas that she explores in her work.

She is very interested in how we manage the different layers of our personalities and how we all have different and unique backgrounds, which influence how we see and interpret ourselves and other people.
