The original artwork for this piece was acrylic and ink on canvas board. I did the piece for “Hopeful Hearts” a charity that raises money for poor children in China to have heart surgery. The yellows represent hope and the creation of new life. The plum blossoms are the symbolic flower of Nanjing and have been drawn in hearts. The butterflies are for the butterfly children who are children who did not survive the surgery the charity paid for. Many children are helped by this very worthwhile charity in Nanjing in China – where i just happen to be living right now!
