Mer-Dusa by

You could call this a mermaid with a differance or a new twist on an old tail,
Merdusa is a subject i have drawn many time and was punished by the gods for loosing her vaginity to Pasidion (another one of the Gods) and her punishment was never to be able to look upon another person ever again or they would be turned to stone.
In this image i have taken the banded sea snake as my insperation and combined it to produce this deadly mermaid with her venoumus snaked hair. Whilst also useing the bright Blues and Yellow that stand for danger beneath the waves.
The border on each side is made up of a celtic tree of life turned into sea weed and dappeled with intertwined sea life to compleat the finished image
