The Death card is often seen as the big baddie in the tarot deck hence the reason i added the word change to this card, far from following the tradition of the skellerton holding a White Rose banner (refuring to the death or Richard the 3rd at Bosworth Field)
Death is a time to start again be reborn see things in a different way, wipe away the past mistakes and take a new path. There is no reason to be one of the lost souls that are ofen shown in the water or lieing on the battlefield, As is the norm with most historical decks, this could be your chance to shine. And take on those new chalanges, start a new job, move home or have a baby . the choice is there for the taking and the choice is your own

As is so often in our sanitized western way, death is seen as something horrific – not natural. And certainly not welcomed. I love how you choose to represent the death card. This is a beautiful celtic work. Simply wonderful, Cherrie:)

I agree! I’m so happy you put that it also represents change, new things to begin. Another beautifully done piece of art!

  • Thank you i wish more people could see change as a good thing some times we may not seek change but it keeps us on our toes and make us look at the world in lots of different ways

Death …. and Change I would rather say.
    But chage means death… always.
In the Tarot of Marseille this character is called “Arcane without Name”… it really has no name…So I can see a helper and a healer in yours, having lost the terrible symbolism of the skeleton, is a milder remembering of a dream of the Human Being…. that after dying the soul can be taken to higher realms and transform throough this passage. Your vision is full of inocent goals, of a priest like description of the moment of dying souls assistance. Very original and personal
Rosa (the work of art is beautiful and lively)

  • Thank you Rosa for your beautyful words they are realy touching
