The Morrigain, Calling the Crows
This is one of those images i am so proud of and has been buzzing around my head for ages. The Morrigain is the Celtic goddess of sexuality and war and if she crossis your path it can be a sign that your death is near.
The Morrigain is linked with crows who are seen in celtic folk lore as her familias. they are also seen as the scavengers of the battle field, where they clear away the remains of the dead.
Here i have tryed to show the on coming armys demise as the goddess calls upon the crows and the oncoming storm shown by the blackening sky.
The image its self is housed with in a lambryth or twin headed axe a powerful symbol in its self linked with women and the goddess. In each courner i have placed more crows whilst at the centre of the lambryth are two detailed celtic knots
