This acrylic painting explores the dichotomy that exists in organ transplantation; that life may only continue, in the death of another.

I look at this painting and I see a a soul yearning for something that will always allude them. A desire to enter into the higher realms of celestial spirit, a place where the trappings and limitations of this physical experience cause no more pain and sorrow. Alas the yearning soul is still anchored and rooted firmly in to the ground where the subterranean heart resides. Out of that buried and tragic heart springs life anew.
