About Cherie Roe Dirksen

So much is taken for granted on a daily basis and I want to bring to the forefront colour, vibrancy, frequency, pensiveness, wonder, reflection, action and energy through my passions.

My art is how I interpret the world around me, it is how I see this life – a palette of unbelievable colours and a sea of energy. The potential every living thing has and the knowledge that everything is a manifestation of the Divine Will is, in itself, pure magic.

So, I am wondering how you make backgrounds like that? Do you actually hand draw all that out? Or is it digital, Adobe stuff? or stencils or what? .. .if you don’t mind my asking, that is.

At any rate, however you do it, it is very effective. This is beautiful!

  • It is hand drawn. I first paint the background black then do the details with a gold acylic paint liner.

just gorgeous! I have to ask, the liner, is that like a pen? looks fab!

  • Thanks, Marie. The liner is a plastic ‘pen’ that holds acrylic paint, it gives you a lot of control but clogs up a lot, which isn’t so great :)

how did you get the fuzzy flock?

  • From the arts and crafts store, I think it’s mainly used in card making…
