I'm Back After a Long Spell of...

Hello Fellow Bubblers!

Firstly, I would like to wish all of you a very happy festive season. I hope all your dreams and wishes materialize in 2013!

I am sorry that I’ve been so scarce here on RedBubble. I have been devoting the best part of the last half of 2012 to sprucing up my website which is finally…ta-da-da-da…up and running in all it’s glory! Phew…what a year it’s been!

I have been painting on the sidelines and will start uploading some stuff over the course of the next few days.

It’s great to be back and I look forward to seeing what you have all been up to this year!

All the best,
Cherie.

Coming Out of a Black Hole and Having Revelations

Yeah, the global energy of late has been intense. Making us all bunker down for some quiet time, and if not, forcing you to cease and desist.

Have you been lacking inspiration, creativity or get up and go? Well, I have.

These last few weeks since I returned from Egypt have been damn right frustrating. I’ve lost my pluck, mojo and anything else you want to call it.

I’ve picked up the paintbrushes and seem to be trying to repeat old patterns in creativity that just don’t work for me anymore.

“It could be realism, abstract, impressionism, crapism or bullshitism…who knows? We’ll just have to wait and see.”

But this weekend I had a revelation…

Who The Hell Am I?

Yes, that old humdinger. What can I truly offer the world that is unique and n

Come Journey Through Picturesque Egypt With Me

I can’t quite put into words what my recent trip to Egypt meant to me, so I decided to lay it out visually instead.…

Experience Beyond the Realms of Comprehension

Although it was a bittersweet culture shock and I found it particularly patriarchal, with hardly a glimpse of a native woman to be seen for most of the trip — I also had some magnificent spiritual moments that literally brought tears to my eyes.

The Ancient Egyptian sites and temples are truly a spiritual, visual and an awe-inspiring experience that I would recommend to anybody (bearing in mind that you can survive the 47°c heat waves and persistent peddlers — see my blog What You Need to Know About Desperation and Manifestation).

Ancient Egypt transports you back to a time that is unfathomable in its technology, knowledge and p

Wishing Everyone a Happy, Positive and Creative 2012!

I hope that everyone has a safe ‘old years eve’ tonight. It has been such a tremendous year of self-discovery and I am anxiously anticipating a very energetic, creative and positively stupendous new year. 2012 is going to be awesome!…

I wish you all the best in the year to come. Remember to stay grounded, detach from drama and face every life lesson with positivity and an open-mind. Try to see that every situation we face is a lesson to make us stronger and more capable to move on to the next level of consciousness.

But most important of all, never stop the creative flow! Keep your inspiration high and let the art pour out of you like a never ending cornucopia! Push the boundaries of your talents and never stop…

Lots of love,

Back after my break from painting...

Hello fellow Bubblers…

Just wanted to say a big ‘Thank You’ to all the comments I have received over the last month or so.

I am back after taking on a freelance illustration job for the Oxford University Press doing South African textbooks. It has been an amazing experience and a nice break from the painting.

I have also been doing the final edit of my book and the cover design with my publisher – it should be released within the next couple of months.

I am back now (for this week at least) before I head off to Phuket on the 1st June for some much needed R&R and, of course, additional inspiration…

I hope you are all well and being thoroughly creative!

Request from Masaru Emoto- Prayer for Water in Japan

A MESSAGE FROM MASARU EMOTO:…

To All People Around the World

Please send your prayers of love and gratitude to water at the nuclear
plants in Fukushima, Japan!

By the massive earthquakes of Magnitude 9 and surreal massive
tsunamis, more than 10,000 people are still missing∑even now∑ It has
been 16 days already since the disaster happened. What makes it worse
is that water at the reactors of Fukushima Nuclear Plants started to
leak, and it‚s contaminating the ocean, air and water molecule of
surrounding areas.

Human wisdom has not been able to do much to solve the problem, but we
are only trying to cool down the anger of radioactive materials in the
reactors by discharging water to them.

Is there really nothing else to do?

I think there is. During over twenty year research of hado measuring
and wate

Caught in Blue Movie

Right, now that thats got your attention!…

I am using a cheap trick of sex and sensualism to attract attention to my debut in the directing world for musician Templeton’s music video for ‘Caught in Blue’ (song off album ‘Templeton’ – 2008). It is now up and running and we welcome your views, reviews and feedback. :)

Details:

The movie is shot in stop animation style, with art director, Cherie Roe Dirksen, providing the hand sculptured figurines, sets and visual effects.

The song and video try to encapsulate the feeling of hopelessness within society, within our daily grind of life and loss and separation and how much or little control we have over what we ‘take in’. It is full of subtle inuendo’s and hidden messages pertaining to our times and how we are targets for corrupt media and comp
