I saw a picture like this in the paper the other day, and thought it was pretty cool, and should give it a go. Turned out to be fairly easy if you’re not precious about saving balloons.
Taken in full sunlight (over left shoulder) with a mirror on my right for balance. Katie obligingly supplied – and applied – the dagger.
1/8000 sec / F8 / ISO 1600 / Canon 7D in 8 frames/sec burst mode (cool huh).
Some later shots we did with dye in the water – these look great, but not centred quite so well. Lots of fun if you have the right gear.
Sounds like fun, Rod, although I think Katie derived all therapeutic benefits from stabbing balloons (that I assume you filled with water?). Not quite warm enough to go stabbing poor defenseless balloons here. Do they make balloons in the shape of our quitter governor?
